“I appreciate that these videos are more 'modern.' They're not setup like your basic elementary school explanations of coping skills and whatnot. They are actually relatable and it makes me feel seen.” ~ SkillFlix AYA user
Meet in the Middle Video Series
A free resource from SkillFlix For Young Adults
The "Meet in the Middle" videos are designed to illustrate to neurotypical people how they can improve their communication with the autistic young adults in their life.
We believe autistic people alone should not be fully responsible for bridging the conversation gap between different neurotypes; every conversation is a two-way street.
These videos are created for autistic folks to share with neurotypical people in their lives. We hope these videos can help neurotypical people better support their loved ones, increase their understanding of autism, and improve the communication skills needed to interact with people on the autism spectrum. They cover a number of topics ranging from sensory sensitivities to tone differences to autistic masking. We hope that these videos can help folks meet in the middle and understand each other better.
“It is incredibly affirming to see a character that represents me. Dyed hair, POC, piercings and all. And I definitely relate to their triggers and feel like someone understands.” ~ SkillFlix AYA user

“The most beneficial skill for me was to learn what to say in an interview. This was especially important because I just graduated college and am applying to 'real' jobs now and I did not know how to navigate job interviews really well.” - SkillFlix AYA user
